Coach Armando Maini
Wed, 10/14/2009 - Oceanside, CA.
It is with great sadness and regret that the Soccer Club of Oceanside announces the untimely death of Coach Armando Maini. Coach Armando passed away at 9pm Sunday October 4th at Tri City Hospital. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Coach Armando Maini served as a youth coach for the Soccer Club of Oceanside’s recreational and competitive programs for the last six years.

He became a member of the Breakers Professional Coaching Staff this season, and enjoyed instant success. Coaching the Boys Under 11 Blue team, Armando ran spirited practices sessions, having fun with his players while challenging them, and enjoyed success on the field as well.

“Growing up and playing in Italy, Coach Armando had a considerable amount of knowledge and experience to offer, and he offered it all. He developed a reputation as a passionate coach who loved the game of soccer, and poured that love into his players... His players loved Coach Armando back. He LOVED the game of soccer and he cared so deeply about his players.“
Frank Zimmerman(Director of Coaching)

Armando's sense of humor and love for the beautiful game was clear for all to see. His presence on the field, and in the lives of our children, will be sorely missed.

The Soccer Club of Oceanside expresses it deepest condolences to Armando's wife Stephanie. their 3 beautiful children, and to all of the extended Maini Family. The Soccer Family of Oceanside mourns deeply for your unexpected and tragic loss.

Donations can be made to the "Armando Maini Memorial Fund" by visiting any branch of Bank of America and referencing Account # 10450-71482.

Please note that donations to the fund can also be made at Ivey Ranch Elementary School.
