Oceanside Breakers in Guatemala

 One of Oceanside Breakers Competitive coaches, Jim Kinyon, and his family recently traveled to Guatemala City on a family visit. While there, Jim was able to continue his relationship with a local school and provide some uniforms for the soccer program.
This program is located in a very tough part of Guatemala City and these boys receive constant pressure to drop out of school and join local gangs. The School requires the boys to have regular school attendance and only then are they allowed to participate in the soccer program and receive a soccer jersey.
Oceanside Breakers plans to extend its relationship with the school and the program and hopes eventually to begin a cultural and sporting exchange program for boys from both countries to visit the other.
The power of soccer is a great thing!!!
